Exams are upon me.

Well it is that wonderful time of the year, when I get all sweaty palms and rigid with fear. Yes fellow law people it is exam time, the most wonderful time of the year. I now have a few weeks (well six) to poke my head in a book or two and get the revision done. I have handed in a 12000 word law journal, which I thought I had lost due to a laptop exploding when I dropped it. So everything is going well and im up to date. This does not mean im complacent, I know I must blow off the dust of my books and break the still fresh spin and do some bloody reading. Good news is that after all the essays were marked I have a very solid 2:1 to go into exams, grading about 68% overall. I suppose I could in theory get a first this year if I really applied myself, but lets face the facts, im not that bloody keen.

Poor Gordo.

It was all going so well, Mandy was back doing his normal dark wizarding tricks, Gordo managed not to make an ass of himself in the debate, and the Tories lead was falling away. Then along comes a massive dose of Foot in Mouth, ohhh the pain on poor little Gordo's face. He knew it was over, but still had to return to the scene of the crime to ask, nay plead that she forgive him. Whats most hurtful is that this woman represents what effectively could be called a Labour core voter, with pretty much the same view as the rest of them. Its not like she was being that bigoted, only asking current topic questions. I think he must have misheard her, poor Gordo, I think he was having a grumpy day, oh well obscurity beckons.

UCTA 1977

I have a question, can UCTA be used for a defence in cases of contract employment law? Does the Act allow the employee to be classed as a consumer? Answers on a postcard please. Oh, might as well tell you I think it does. Any advice welcome.

Something I saw the other day.

I saw the funniest incident in a long time this week, had me chuckling for a few days. I was stopped at the lights in my Ferrari (fiat but its Italian, so same thing) when a young guy walked in front of my car and onto the grass bank covered in snow, looking generally please with himself in that chav way that is seen more frequently now. I honestly was looking at him in complete hatred (stereotyping) when low and behold he went flying about a foot into the air and landed right on his bum cheeks. Now at this point I knew it must have hurt, but I howled with laughter anyway at this mans poor misfortune. He must have heard me as he turned and scowled, which made me laugh harder, he dusted himself down and carried on his way, or would have done had he not went ass over tit again. At which point I was nearly crying from laughing so much and so hard. Again he picked himself up and attempted to walk off, and again he fell (this being the worst of the three), and I'm sure he bruised his bum. Unfortunately the lights changed and I had to leave, but I still chortle when I think of it. Comedy Gold.
